CS-8000 Main Frame: Models and Specifications
There are three models of the Semiconductor Curve Tracer Main Frames of the CS-8000 Series.
They all feature pulse output, gate pattern, and very small current sensing capabilities, and support the design evaluation of wide-bandwidth semiconductors such as SiC (silicon carbide) and GaN (gallium nitride).
All three versions of the CS-8000 have a 200V (2A) Medium Voltage (MV) unit for constant voltage or constant current measurements. You can also choose DC or PULSE, SINE, rectified or semi-rectified waveforms.
All three variants also have a 40 V unit for measurements with constant voltage / current. DC, PULSE and SINE waveforms can be selected.
The CS-8020 has no HV unit. For this we recommend the variants CS-8200 (2kV / 20mA) and CS-8500 (5 kV / 8 mA).

Selecting the High-Current Unit
A complete CS-8000 Series system includes a High-Current (HC) Unit. Three models are available: CS-205, CS-210, and CS-220.
- CS-205: up to 500 A
- CS-210: up to 1000 A
- CS-220: up to 2000 A
The diagram illustrates the operating ranges of each model. Each HC Unit can apply up to 50 V, with the maximum current capability determined by the model. The plotted areas show the effective voltage–current limits, where the applied voltage reduces the available current accordingly.
CS-8000 High-Current Units: Models and Specifications
Thanks to the High-Current (HC) unit's high current mode, measurements of up to 2kA can be conducted. The pulse width, measurement period, and measurement range are adjustable.
HC units require dedicated cable sets.

CS-8000 Series Test Fixtures
The CS-322 Test Fixture is required for a complete CS-8000 Curve Tracer stack. The patch panel CS-520 integrates into the CS-322 Test Fixture.

Test Adapter CS-500 Series for CS-8000 Series
DUTs are typically integrated into the CS-8000 series by inserting them into a test adapter. Various test adapters are available to accommodate different DUTs.
Test adapter of the CS-500 Series can be plugged conveniently into the patch panel CS-520, which is required when using the adapters.
Instead of patch panel and test adapters, a DUT can also be connected to the test fixture ports via cables, e.g. using aligator clamps.
