The compact design of the PML probe series with only 2.5mm housing diameter at the probe tip is ideal for measurements on the smallest components and hard-to-reach measuring points, as it allows a far better view of the component under test than conventional 5mm probe housing designs. The actual probe tip is only 0.5mm thick, gold plated and spring loaded.
Individual contacting with high signal fidelity in different applications is ensured with the replaceable spring tip and a variety of contacting accessories. Especially for RF measurements at the IC a shortest possible ground connection is necessary. BNC and PCB solder-in solutions are available. Conventional adaptations cause additional inductance and resonance into the measurement circuit due to long leads and thus distort the measurement signal. This is where the innovative IC contacting system of the PML series, consisting of 5 different IC caps for pin spacing from 0.5mm to 1.27mm, the innovative ground blade and the copper pad for gluing onto the IC, offers the ideal solution for short-circuit-proof, reproducible and accurate measurements.
PMK's passive probes PML are available with or without intelligent read-out (RO) function, featuring intelligent communication with automatic scaling on the oscilloscope display.
All probes are calibrated at the end of production. A factory calibration certificate is optional.
Read-Out (RO) in our probes is a physical pin, positioned in the BNC adapter. This read-out pin allows automatic adjustment of the oscilloscope's settings, like scaling, based on the probe's attenuation factor so that the read out on the probe is correct.
