The IWATSU® SS-500 Purpose

When directly measuring currents, the circuit typically needs to be interrupted to insert the measuring instrument in-line. IWATSU® current clamp-type probes eliminate this need by allowing current measurement without breaking the circuit. Probes of the IWATSU® SS-500 series detect the magnetic field generated by the current, enabling the measurement of current by surrounding the conductor with a clamp-type iron core. This approach is particularly beneficial in situations where power cannot be interrupted. Additionally, the IWATSU® SS-500 probes provide galvanic isolation, ensuring a signal free from potential interference from the source.

Microcurrent Observation

When paired with a high-resolution oscilloscope, the IWATSU® SS-500 series can effectively observe 100µA stepped currents and ripple currents with high clarity.

Low Noise Observation: With a high signal-to-noise ratio and a 10x output rate, the IWATSU® SS-500 series excels at capturing microcurrents with minimal noise interference.
High-Speed Current Monitoring: The IWATSU® SS-500 series supports frequencies up to 120 MHz (SS-531/521), enabling precise observation of high-frequency current waveforms with minimal distortion.
5A Range Models: The 5A range models of the IWATSU® SS-500 series allow for the observation of 1mA microcurrent waveforms with exceptional clarity, thanks to the high signal-to-noise ratio.

With the 5A range models of the IWATSU® SS-500 series, 1mA microcurrent waveforms can be observed with a high S/N ratio.

Power Supplies for the SS-500 Series

The power supplies suitable for the IWATSU® SS-500 series come as 2-channel and 4-channel versions. The PS-52 power supply is not compatible with SS-531 and SS-530.
